Usually I have a ton of ideas in my iPhone that just pop in my head randomly. When I get a track I like, I dig into those ideas, hum out melodies and then create the song line by line. So I guess you can say I make it up as I go (lol). I rarely “write” songs anymore.

I use a Blue USB mic and Garage Band, but even before I had a mic, I’d just sing into either the computer’s built in mic or lay down ideas on a dictaphone. It didn’t sound the best, but it got the idea across! Hope that helps!

Hmmmm….well I don’t exactly think I have MY foot in yet (lol!) but the key to anything is perseverance and perfecting your craft. In this digital age, it’s easier (though “easy” is relative) to connect with people that can help move things along. Pretty much every really good contact I’ve gained over the years have come strictly from Myspace, YouTube and Twitter. Just write stuff, post it, pub it (but not spam it….no one likes that) and if it’s good, someone will notice. And if you sing, perform EVERYWHERE. Let people know who you are! It may take awhile, but that’s how it has worked for me.

I can only tell you what I’ve been (repeatedly) advised…build up your own catalog and try to get some songs placed independently, and then if the opportunity arises for a pub deal, it will be sweeter and more in your favor.
