Today’s Dope Girl Fresh Award goes to Khloe Kardashian. She always been my fave Kardashian sister because she always seemed like such a G in comparison . She speaks her mind, she’s free spirited and well…she speaks her mind. I love that quality in any woman. A lot of people seem to take shots at Khloe, but there was something about her I dug.
As a blog reader, I’ve recently been seeing that the other Laker wives, notably Vanessa Bryant, have been kinda shutting her out and snubbing her. Hmmm….I have lots of thoughts on why this might be (maybe because Khloe makes money- however she may go about doing that- and they live off their husbands’ checks) and now Khloe’s given them a reason to really hate.

This 2010 drop Rolls Royce coupe is beeeeeeautiful! I know that it’s the thought that counts on gifts, but damn, this makes a statement!!! And she bought it for him. Wonder how those naysayers feel about that (lol). They talk about her “fame-whoring” ways, but looks like the reality shows, diet pill-pushing, party hosting, and radio talk shows are paying off lovely. Go ‘head Khloe….show that appreciation and love in a ballerific way!

Ok, I like CiCi for a few reasons. First, because she’s always interesting to watch. Chick be KILLING the performances…we cannot deny that! Two, she’s a fellow Scorpion. And 3, because that bish’s body is so on point it aint e’en funny!!! And last night at the Red Zone Grammy pre-party in LA was no exception. Yep…good gym motivation, indeed. I think I’m back on my street runs Monday (lol).

Yes, ma’am, Gaga! Yessss indeed! I soooo cannot wait for 11/23 to cop her re-release/new release The Fame Monster (this video is the 1st single for it) and I DEFINITELY need her tour date in my life. She’s giving me vocal. Fashion. Imagery. Artistry. Fantasy. EVERYTHING! So inspired, I am.
Mmkay, so I started this photo album on Facebook called “Things That Turn Me On.” A bunch of images, mostly fashion related, that get my creative juices flowing. As I was looking through images I’d saved in my laptop over time, I noticed that most of the fashion-y ones were of white girls, not black girls. Hmmm….that made me sad. My reality is, though, most blacks gals don’t “push the envelope” when it comes to fashion. Collectively, there’s this belief that it’s more about labels than actual style. Some that are out-the-box stylisticly, are looked at as a little strange. Ho-hum. Even I sometimes fall victim to a uniform. But that has a little less to do with conformity than with just plain being style-lazy (lol).
Anywhoooo…here’s a Black chick that really rocks my boat, Shingai Shoniwa. She’s the lead singer of the British band Noisettes. I was into’d to them by my associate at Def Jam (whose parent company they’re distributed by) and though I dug the music, I dug her fresh even more. Avant Garde clothes, wild and free hair, different voice, and she plays guitar (dammit, Daddy, why didn’t you MAKE me follow in your guitar footsteps, lol). She’s definitely a Dope Girl Fresh.
