How sweet it is :)
Posted: March 26, 2010 at 7:57 pmI heard this on a commercial today, and I immediately teared up. Why, you ask? I suppose they were “good” tears. I was extremely close to my Grandfather who passed away in 2002. There was a point in time where I was living with him, my Grandmother, my sister and her 2 very small children. It was organized chaos I guess you could say…both kids were under 3, and my Grandfather was very very sick from cancer & diabetes. BUT one thing he always did, up until the end, was smile alot, joke alot, play with the kids and sing with them. My neice had some lil teddy bear that played Marvin Gaye’s “How Sweet It Is To Be Loved By You” when you squeezed it. She could barely speak correctly, let alone sing (lol), but she’d get the biggest kick out of squeezing that bear and singing that song with my Grandpa. She’d just laugh and laugh and laugh, which would make him smile ear to ear. It was the sweetest thing. I can still very vividly remember how cute they sounded singing together. (I’m crying as I type this). I really miss my homie!!! My Grandfather meant the world to me. It’s funny how music can bring back such vivid memories and powerful emotions. I love you Grandpa and miss you alot!
