24 Hours

. My day started at 4:30 am when I woke up to head to Tyler Perry Studios here in Atlanta to film my small role as a background singer for Taraji P. Henson’s character in the upcoming movie I Can Do Bad All By Myself. I’m not at all a morning person, but when I tell you I was able to hop right up on out that bed, honey! I was too excited to be doing something like this!
I got to the studio around a quarter to 6 and if you’ve ever been to Greenbrier Mall, you’re familiar with the area. To know that all the amazingness that is Tyler Perry Studios is right behind that mall is, well, AMAZING. I had my own lil private dressing room (lol), craft services with an assortment of yummy breakfast eats, wardrobe to choose, etc. Then I went into hair and makeup, and had to adjust my thought process because sitting next to me was Taraji getting her face and hair done. Really?! Is this really going down? Okay, I’ll take it! My face was BEAT (I ended up wearing that makeup all damn day!) and my hair…LoL!!! I had the young 70s Pam Grier thing going on with my lil afro wig and wide-leg jumpsuit. Groovy.

Foxy Cleopatra. Shut yo mouth!!!
Me and the 2 other young ladies that were playing back up singers headed to the stage at 8:30 to film, and while it didn’t take very long to do our scene, the whole experience was amazing. I know I’ve said that word like 4 times already, but that’s the best way to describe the whole thing. Something I didn’t quite imagine was happening easy as cake-mix. Filming a movie scene with an Academy Award Nominee, talking to Tyler Perry, getting paid (quite well) to sing and “work” for approximately 30 minutes? What can beat that? Following your dreams DOES pay, kiddos. Eff the path of safety. If walking the road less traveled can get me this, I’ll continue to be on that path the rest of my life! And it’s only getting better. I’m like 2 days, then less than 14 days, away from some seriousness. Waaaaait for iiiiiittt….
After the movie stuff, I came home, rested for about an hour, then changed and headed to Crys’s to hang out the rest of the evening. We went to Primal for T.O.’s bday party. Uhhhh, yeaaaah. Not so much. The crowd there was weird to say the least and after about 5 minutes there, I just wanted to leave. The VIP was simply a raised stage with ropes (instead of railings or anything safe) to keep you from crashing to the floor below. I was so paranoid I was gonna fall off the damn stage, I ended up sitting down the whole time. And when Usher came up there, you’d have thought Barack stepped in the building. The club scene can really just be too extra at times. So we bounced and caught a cab to Luckie where BMC was DJ’ing.
We got there minutes before it closed and Luckie was Luckie…they tried to make us pay (lol…for 10 minutes!? We didn’t pay, of course.) Boo!
Once that was over, we headed to Southside for the “after party.” Funny how the most low-key party was the one I enjoyed most. Go figure. Guess those Ocean Boys party right.

Bertell was playing paparazzi with my camera, so I have some candids of your favorite Ocean’s boys, but I’m not gonna post them (lol). We were having a good time, though.
I made it home just as the sun was coming out at about 6:45am! After I post this blog and go workout, it’s chill time for the rest of the day. Well, I’ll be at home at any rate…I think
