I won’t lie, I’d get my nerd on and surf the streets on it.  Maybe not in Atlanta, though   There’s no listed price for it, but if the price of this Chanel bicycle is any indicator…

It’s $12,000!!!  The Segway may be well over that (????).  I’d pawn or ebay that ish in a heartbeat!

More Melrose V-logging.  We are getting more and more excited by the hour because, homie, we are creating some GRRRRREAT STUFF!!!  People close to me know that I’m very calm and it takes alot to excite me, but my head is over bobbin’ hella hard (lol).  Enjoy this sneak peek….(thinks to self- “Who the heck is this?!  Bloggin’ at 4:36 in the mornin’, crack of dawn and yawnin’ “….lol)

TIck, TIck, TIck

It’s 7pm ATL time/4pm LA time and I’m already freakin’ sleepy.  I’m waiting to be picked up to go to the studio, so what better to do than blog a lil.

First off, I’m mad ’cause I left the cord to my camera(s) at my apartment so I can’t upload any pix or video unless I go buy another…how wack is that!?  I hate spending money on dumb ish, but I hate not being able to “communicate” even more (lol).  So I suppose for the good of the blog I’d better go buy another for this week.  Because there’s plenty to capture!

Hmmm…what can I say?  Musically, let’s just say for those of you who’ve been asking, “when am I gonna hear something (other than what’s on myspace)?”  your wishes may very well coming true.  Sooner than later.  Much sooner.  Yippee!

Adonis is at the studio right now doing a track for a song that we created a concept for last night.  It’s gonna be a sweet club-banger!  I feel it.  I’ll definitely have to catch some of that process on camera.

Also I got some of the pix back from last week’s photo shoot.  Mmmmhmmm!  Thanks to Demond for kicking my butt (or legs, more specifically) at LA Fitness and thanks to Mother Nature for making me sick and making me lose my appetite before the shoot.  Mama’s legs are on fiyaaah!  And I’m not even one to compliment myself.  That aint really me.  But I look good in those pix (lol).

Annnnd…I was invited to perform in a sexy lil show next weekend.  I’m not gonna spill the entire pot of beans until I confirm it, but I know 75% of America has probably heard of this show and will know just what I’m in for when I do say what it is.  I hope that happens.  The stage is my thang, shawty!  MMMM, come on phone call!  I’m gonna try and flip it into a Melrose situation, though…you know…promo, people!  HInt: my favorite red-carpet chick has done it…

Okay…I’m still waiting to be picked up.  Ugh!  This sucks!!!!!  I’m going to get a pedicure or something.  Laters…

I’m here in LA and we’re about to record.  Yipppeee! 

We’re video taping, of course, but in the meantime we’re doing what we love to do.  Singing dumb songs (lol).  Somehow we started singing this one…which was actually a really cute song.  Remember when music felt this good?

Just the 2 of us

I’m sitting here at the spot I go to when I have nothing else to do and am unsure of what to write…and I’m wondering “what in the world could I write about?”  And here comes a dude with a note (!), complete with pictures drawn on it, that says:

“Dear Miss,

Forgive me…but you are very beautiful…have a wonderful day…”

Aww…well isn’t that nice   I still don’t really have a topic, though (lol).

Let’s see.  In 2 days I’ll be headed west to do another round of recording for good ole’ Melrose.  We still need to do a video blog, but since this ish has been kind of lingering for a minute, I’ll just go ahead and say it now.  Melrose is now a duo.  Kelee and I are going at it as 2 officially (duh!).  Shouldn’t be much of a suprise…I mean, anyone who’s been watching can see that it’s been me and her at events, me and her at the studio, even me and her onstage.  Just us.  The photo shoot we did on Valentine’s Day was the first as a duo.  Here’s a lil peek…

We’d been looking for a third, possibly a fourth, for about 6 months now and we actually had some good contenders, but we just drew the conclusion that since we’ve been the anchor since the incepetion of Melrose, why not just keep it as that?!  It also creates a slightly different lane since there are 100 girl groups with 3 or 4 “on the verge.”   (Electrik Red, Sophia Fresh, Rich Girl, Jane 3, etc etc).  So yep, no more questions.  MELROSE IS MYLAH AND KELEE! Dope, right?

We’ve got some good songs lined up to record that fit into this “new” lane we’re running in.  New hair/image, new sound, new beginnings.  I’m doing everything I can to keep the momentum up and to make this stuff take off into the stratosphere!  I’m too ready!  You already know that me, K, and Adonis are gonna have plenty of entertainment for yall!

VDay Weekend…Melrose Weekend

Okay, so let me start off by saying I’m glad Valentine’s Day is over.  For some reason it seems a ton of emphasis was put on it this year.  Maybe I’m hating.  So what, what’s it to you!?  Lol…yeah, this one was…special to say the least.  I almost hit the dude at the nail shop this morning for asking, “Did you get lots of flowers for Valentine’s?”  Shut uuup!!!  Lol…

BUT, actually on that day Melrose had a photo shoot/EPK vid shoot.  Though I planned on us doing a video blog for all who are interested, everything that could go half way wrong for the shoot DID in fact go wrong.  So I’m just realizing today, hours before Kelee’s set to hop back on a plane to LA, that we never did that blog.  Ummm, let’s see if maybe I can squeeze it in before we go to the airport.  If not, we’ll do one when I go to Cali later this week.

But yeah, we did our shoot.  It was fun, though a little frazzly (my word) because we were rushing, we were both sick, and just ja-ram-ah all day.  We thugged it out, though.  Can’t wait to see the finished products.  Here’s one look I snapped with my camera phone….

Yes, it’s a leather swimsuit (lol).  Thank goodness for those many gym hours.

After the shoot, Kelee, Sophia and I headed to Ruby Tuesday to grab some dinner.  I later had to force myself to get up and do something for that VDay evening…I was feeling crazy sick by then…so I met up with E & C at Eros for a whole 30 minutes or so (lol), drank a Fiji Water, and headed back home to drink some AlkaSeltzer Flu and go to sleep.  Yeah, wild times!  Whatevs.  I’ll make up for it in LA.  AFTER we record, of course

Random Observations

It’s two days until the big Melrose photo shoot!  Yippee!!!  We’re shooting with a great photographer named Laretta Houston (you can check her work at www.larettahouston.com) and my new fave hairstylist Minrell.   I’m sure it’s gonna be a dope shoot and I’m really, really looking forward to it, but unfortunately I’m getting sick.  Boooo!  Actually, I’m rebuking the germs..I cannot afford to be sick right now.  After the shoot, I’m heading back to LA with Kee to record for a week straight.  Though I don’t mind a little gravel in my voice, I do want to be on point for these sessions.  I feel it’s sink or swim time, and I intend on having a deal done by end of spring.  Come hell or high water.  No stupid cold is gonna sidetrack that.  Look for a nice lil entertaining video blog on Saturday!

I’ve also noticed what a difference a new-do makes.  Not that I haven’t been short before, but this new cut has got me feeling like a new person.  I went out the other night and just on the fact that I didn’t have hair down my back like 95% of the rest of the females, the attention meter was way up.  Hmmm….weird.  I guess it’s that shorter hair screams bigger confidence.  Who knows.  Too bad I wasn’t feeling very receptive to any of it.  Whatevs….but I do love my new hair cut

I don’t think I have one friend who has a boyfriend right now and all have been lamenting on that fact due that Valentine’s Day is this weekend.  I am, once again, solo, but it’s not new.  I know last year I went to Harlem Bar-alone, ordered dinner and drinks-alone, and listened to some great live soul music- alone.  It was a good night!  I intend on doing the same thing this year.  I’ll put on a fly red dress, order up some martinis and casually converse with whomever’s in my company.  Don’t let them play some Beyonce!  (lol)  And as a sidebar: people shouldn’t feel obligated to showing love to another on just one day out the year…friendships/relationships/hearts/feelings should be cared for 365.  Just a thought.

Other than that…hmm….I’d been hearing good things about Ryan Leslie’s new release, and since  I loved the singles he put out, I just purchased it on itunes.   I’m not gonna listen ’til later, though.  I’ll make an event out of it (lol).  Music, candles, and Nyquil…sexy fun, right!?  Feel free to tell me what your fave joint on the album is…
